Southern Methodist University (SMU)

SMU is a global research university located in the heart of Dallas, the nation's fourth largest metroplex. The Department of World Languages and Literatures is a dynamic department housing eleven languages and fourteen undergraduate degree programs, and it serves all of SMU's 6000 undergraduates through the university-wide language requirement. The department collaborates with interdisciplinary programs on campus, including International Studies, Human Rights, and Women’s and Gender Studies. Our lecturers organize large-scale events like our International Film Festival; participate in Dedman College Interdisciplinary Institute’s research clusters; take advantage of the opportunity to live on campus in the residential commons as a Faculty-In-Residence; and teach at SMU’s campus in the mountains of Taos, NM.
