Lecturer III - Digital Studies

The University of Michigan’s new Digital Studies Institute (UMDSI) is searching for a full-time lecturer beginning with winter semester 2020 to teach courses that will substantially add to our undergraduate curriculum. In particular, classes in any of the following areas are strongly desired: Race/Gender/Class & Digital Access, Video Games, Game Culture & Industries, Apps and Mobile Media, Social Media, Digital Humanities, and/or Digital Rhetoric. The lecturer will teach five courses per year, should be prepared to contribute to our introductory curriculum by regularly teaching a large course (150-200 students), and serve as the primary academic advisor for students pursuing the Digital Studies minor.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in the humanities, or social science with a focus on digital culture; experience teaching courses on digital culture; cutting edge and contemporary knowledge and experience in research and teaching in the field.
