Assistant Professor in U.S. Ethnic Literary Studies or Anglophone Drama

The English Department at the University of Michigan expects to make a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in either U.S. Ethnic Literary Studies or Anglophone Drama to begin September 1, 2020. Areas of special interest are Latinx / Chicanx,  Asian American, and Native American literatures of any period from the colonial era to the present and Anglophone drama of any period. We are particularly interested in applications that demonstrate a commitment to diversity in the academy and a sustained interest in bringing to teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activities critical perspectives on the experiences of historically marginalized groups.

Applicants must have a PhD in hand by the time of appointment, should submit a cover letter, CV, writing sample (no more than 25 pages), statement of current and future research plans, statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence, and three letters of recommendation by September 27th.
