The Department of English at New York University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Nineteenth-Century British literature and culture to begin September 1, 2020, pending budgetary and administrative approval.  The successful candidate must be in possession of a relevant doctoral degree and must demonstrate scholarly excellence and a commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching. While the primary focus of recruitment will be appointments at the level of assistant professor, the department can consider appointing an exceptional associate professor. Applications are especially welcome from candidates in the following subfields: critical race studies; indigeneity and colonialism; gender and sexuality studies; environmental studies and ecocriticism.
