Faculty Positions in Nineteenth-Century British literature and culture
Department of English
New York University Arts and Science

The Department of English at New York University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Nineteenth-Century British literature and culture to begin September 1, 2020, pending budgetary and administrative approval.  The successful candidate must be in possession of a relevant doctoral degree and must demonstrate scholarly excellence and a commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching. While the primary focus of recruitment will be appointments at the level of assistant professor, the department can consider appointing an exceptional associate professor. Applications are especially welcome from candidates in the following subfields: critical race studies; indigeneity and colonialism; gender and sexuality studies; environmental studies and ecocriticism.

Candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation and a 20 to 25-page writing sample via Interfolio link: http://apply.interfolio.com/66942 or visit the NYU Department of English website for more information: http://as.nyu.edu/english/employment.html.  Because diversity is such an important part of the NYU mission, we request that applicants include a separate paragraph in the application letter telling us how diversity figures into their past, present, and future teaching, research, and community engagement.

Applications should be received by end of business on October 3, 2019 for full consideration.
