Visiting Assistant Professor in Italian

The Department of Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese and Russian Studies of the Colorado College invites applications for a full-time one-year visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Italian Studies to commence in late August 2021. Teaching assignments will include, primarily, all levels of Italian language, as well as culture courses, with an open field of specialization (desirable primary or secondary areas of specialization in race and migration, language pedagogy, environmental humanities, film and media). The ideal candidate will be an excellent and flexible team-worker, committed to collegiality, to the growth and visibility of the program, student retention, and administrative tasks. They will be able to teach compelling undergraduate courses in Italian language and culture at all levels demonstrating a broad competence to teach interdisciplinary courses cross-listed with other departments. They will also engage students through organizing activities at the Italian House, off-campus visits, events open to the community, and for the Italian study abroad program.
