Assistant Professor

The Department of German Studies at Emory University, Atlanta, GA recognized by the AATG as a Center of Excellence, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The position includes teaching four courses each year at all levels of the undergraduate program and the opportunity to participate in the summer study abroad program in Vienna. The interdisciplinary nature of an Emory education also allows for collaborations with other disciplines. Application deadline: October 15, 2019.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a promising research agenda, a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education, and the potential to contribute to the continued development of an innovative undergraduate curriculum. Applicants should have a specialization in transnational or migration studies, or on discourses on diversity and minorities in the German-speaking world, conceived of in a broad historical sense. A Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment as well as native or near-native fluency in German and English. Emory University is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
