Assistant Professor of English - Fiction Writing

The Austin College English Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of fiction writing and/or creative nonfiction. The English Department values a diverse and flexible curriculum and welcomes a wide range of approaches to creative writing and topics in literature, with opportunities for courses that engage gender and ethnic studies, global diversity, and/or interdisciplinary approaches to creative writing and literature. In addition to courses in creative writing, teaching responsibilities include introductory and intermediate courses in writing and literature, as well as participation in college-wide programs such as first-year seminars and January Terms. The teaching load is 3-1-3, including a January Term class usually in alternating years. Ph.D. required. The position will begin August 2020.
