Visiting Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies, with expertise in Translation Studies and/or Spanish for Heritage Speakers

The Hispanic Studies Department at Whitman College is excited to announce a one-year, Visiting Assistant position, beginning August 2021. Ph.D. strongly preferred, ABD considered.

 

The successful candidate should be prepared to offer courses in all levels of Spanish language, in a context emphasizing literary and cultural analysis and critical thinking skills. Candidates will offer innovative advanced courses in translation theory and practice (literary translation and/or healthcare), Advanced Grammar, and/or Spanish for Heritage Speakers according to the candidate's interests and expertise. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. The teaching load for this position is six courses.
