Visiting Assistant Professor of English (British Literature 1600-1750)

Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college in Gambier, Ohio, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in British Literature, 1600-1750. Candidates will be responsible for teaching a 3/2 course load over two semesters, and should be capable of teaching courses across the 17th and 18th centuries, including courses on seventeenth century poetry and prose and early eighteenth century literature. Responsibilities may also include participation in the department’s honors program. The term of appointment is July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. We anticipate that courses next year will be taught in person on our campus in Gambier, Ohio. Ph.D. preferred, but applicants who have yet to complete the degree will be considered.

A completed application will include a curriculum vitae and a cover letter detailing research interests, teaching experience, and teaching philosophy, including methods for incorporating issues related to diversity, inclusivity, and equity into teaching and advising.
