Postdoctoral Fellow

The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute (EMSI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from scholars whose research is in any area of the humanities or humanistic social sciences with a focus on early modern Americas, c. 1500-1800.

To apply, candidates must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree after June 30, 2016, and before July 1, 2021.

The fellowship has a salary of $70,000, plus benefits, and a $3,000 research/travel allowance. The fellow will teach one course during the Spring semester of the fellowship period in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. The fellow will also participate in relevant Institute programs.

EMSI, founded in 2003, is a partnership between the University of Southern California and the Huntington Library. The Institute sponsors 75 to 90 scholarly presentations each year, has an annual conference, an annual workshop with the William and Mary Quarterly, and together with the University of Pennsylvania Press sponsors a book series on "The Early Modern Americas."
