The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant with specialization in the area of Caribbean Literature. A strong knowledge of Caribbean cultural and literary theory is a requirement. While the primary area of expertise is Anglophone Caribbean, applicants with a knowledge of Francophone, Spanish-speaking or other non-Anglophone Caribbean literary histories will be at an advantage. An ability to bridge Caribbean literary and cultural studies with one or more other current fields of inquiry such as the African diaspora; postcolonial/globalization studies; archival studies; and the digital humanities is also very welcome. Evidence of interest and success in mentoring underrepresented minority students is highly desired.
Completed applications (as detailed in the attached ad) should be addressed to the Chair of the search committee: Dr. Curdella Forbes, and uploaded to Academic Jobs Online: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/20052
