Assistant Professor, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures (German)

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Saint Anselm College, a Roman Catholic undergraduate liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition in Manchester, NH invites applications for a one to three year term faculty position to begin August 2022.  The successful candidate will be a generalist in German language, literature and culture and will teach German at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, including business German and writing intensive courses. The successful candidate will also be committed to actively involving undergraduates in research. The ideal applicant should have native or near native proficiency in German and English and undergraduate and graduate study in the field of German literature. The area of specialization is open.

Required Skills and Experience:

A Ph.D. in German literature or a related field is preferred. ABDs with a defense date by spring 2022 will be considered.  Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and to scholarly research.

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
