The College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to our mission of educating one of the most diverse student bodies in the U.S. Successful candidates will collaborate with current faculty to help design and teach upper division courses in linguistics and first-year writing for multilingual students.

The candidate would be able to engage with the applied orientation of the department, teaching theoretical linguistics to a general audience of students while inciting interest in its growing practical applications. Teaching graduate courses is possible with an appointment to the CUNY Graduate Center Linguistics Program. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to work across disciplinary interests within the English Department, and with such other departments and programs at the college such as Modern Languages, Translation Studies, Mathematics and Computer Science, and/or Black and Latino Studies.
