Assistant Professor – British Anglophone Literature of the 18th Century and the Romantic Era

The English Department at Oklahoma State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in British Anglophone Literature of the Eighteenth Century through the Romantic era.  Applicants focusing in any genre, critical approach, or across fields in these historical period are welcome, and scholars with research and teaching interests in genre studies, gender and sexuality, and/or race theory are especially encouraged to apply.  This faculty member would work in a department with existing strengths in British Anglophone and postcolonial literatures and would teach undergraduate and graduate courses that cover the range of British Anglophone literature from the eighteenth through the early nineteenth centuries, as well as supervise graduate students working in these areas. The position also offers opportunities to engage with one or more of OSU’s interdisciplinary programs, including Gender and Women’s Studies, Digital Studies, and Africana Studies. Course Load: 1/2 in first year, 2/2 in subsequent years.
