Writer in Residence

The English Department at Oklahoma State University seeks to hire a writer-in-residence for a 1-year renewable appointment on the OSU-Tulsa campus beginning in the fall semester of 2020. This position requires teaching three courses and up to two shorter-term community writing workshops per year, with the option of additional summer teaching. Expertise is desired in one or more of the following areas: fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Candidates with a minimum of one published book and an interest in teaching interdisciplinary areas such as Africana Studies, American Studies, or Native American Studies are especially encouraged, as are applicants from historically underrepresented groups.

The OSU-Tulsa Writer in Residence will demonstrate commitment to literary arts outreach through collaboration with the Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa. OSU-Tulsa is an urban campus located on historic Greenwood Avenue and adjacent to the growing Tulsa Arts District. This position is key to Oklahoma State's land-grant mission of engaging communities within and beyond the University.
