Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position in Hebrew and Jewish Civilization Studies

The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University seeks to fill a full-time, non-tenure line position in Hebrew and Jewish Civilization Studies. The selected candidate will be affiliated with the Center for Jewish Civilization (CJC) within the School of Foreign Service. The holder of the position will be responsible for coordinating all levels of modern Israeli Hebrew instruction and curricula. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Teaching requirements will be one to two Hebrew language courses per semester. In addition, the candidate should be able to teach courses on subjects such as Israeli literature, Israeli cinema, and Israeli culture. Ability to teach the CJC’s gateway course, “Introduction to Jewish Civilization (Humanities Module),” is a plus. The selected candidate should be able to demonstrate a solid track record in academic publishing, as well as proven success in the classroom. PhD is required by the time of the appointment.
