Assistant Professor of Linguistics/TESOL

The Department of English at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in Applied Linguistics at the rank of assistant professor. The successful applicant will have a PhD in linguistics or applied linguistics; an active, successful research agenda focusing on one or more of the following areas: instructed second language acquisition, sociolinguistics and language variation, second-language pedagogy; and a record of effective teaching. The successful candidate will maintain a productive research agenda, teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs, and provide service to the department as appropriate.
