Open-Rank Search in Poetry

We are conducting an open-rank search to fill a tenured or tenure track position in poetry. Interested applicants should have at least one book of poetry published by or in press with a reputable house, and another underway. Teaching responsibilities (two courses per semester) will include undergraduate and graduate courses. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to inclusive teaching practices, including the teaching of literature that reflects diverse experiences of race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality, and class. We are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated ability to develop and teach courses in African American poetry or poetry of the African diaspora. Secondary expertise in LGBTQ Literature or Women's and Gender studies is also desirable.

The Writing Seminars, one of the oldest graduate programs in creative writing, offers a fully funded two-year Master of Fine Arts degree in poetry and fiction, as well as major and minor undergraduate concentrations in creative writing.
