Full Time Lecturer & Course Administrator in Spanish

The Department of Romance Studies at Tufts University invites applications for a Spanish Language Full-time Lecturer/Course Administrator position to begin September 1, 2023.

Responsibilities

The Spanish Language Administrator will teach four advanced Spanish language courses (two courses per semester), coordinate two levels of third year Spanish language, advise students, develop and edit pedagogical materials, supervise and evaluate lecturers teaching advanced Spanish and collaborate with Spanish Language Coordinator in different administrative tasks.

Requirements and skills

  • M.A. or equivalent required. PhD preferred
  • Previous college-level teaching experience required
  • Training and experience in second language acquisition highly desirable
  • Native or near-native fluency essential
  • Detail-oriented, organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Command of instructional technology applied to language learning
