Creative Writing- Visiting Assistant Professor- Poetry

We invite applications for a two-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2020-2022 academic years. We seek a passionate teacher and poet to join a thriving English major with concentrations in creative writing for both majors and minors. The program sponsors an innovative curriculum, vibrant visiting writers series, well-funded writer-in-residence program, and, beginning in 2020, a new literary festival that celebrates the written word beyond the classroom. We support students who edit two literary magazines and engage actively in service learning and interdisciplinary partnerships.

For this visiting position, we seek a poet with significant publications, demonstrated teaching excellence, and interest in community engagement. Teaching responsibilities include a multi-genre introductory course for first-year students, poetry writing courses at both the introductory and intermediate levels, and possible supervision of honor theses.
