Assistant Professor of French

The Department of French at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of French, to begin September 1, 2020. Teaching load is 2-2, undergraduate courses taught in French and English translation, as well as graduate seminars. Applicants must have a specialization in Caribbean and/or Sub-Saharan African literatures and cultures. Affiliation with other units such as Comparative Literature, Cinema Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, or Latino and Caribbean Studies encouraged. Native or near-native fluency in French required. Applicants will submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, writing sample (not to exceed 25 pages), statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation. Student evaluations from courses are optional.
