Lecturer of Spanish

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Auburn University invites applications for a Lecturer of Spanish, starting spring semester 2020.

This is a full-time nine-month, non-tenure eligible position. This appointment, for one year, may be renewed by mutual agreement annually, contingent upon availability of funds, the need for services and satisfactory performance. Teaching load is 4/4 per academic year of mostly elementary- and intermediate-level Spanish. If need exists, candidate may be asked to teach in area of specialization. Minimum qualifications include: Masters in Spanish Linguistics by the start date, native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, college-level teaching experience, positive teaching evaluations, familiarity with current language pedagogy and the ACTFL Guidelines, desired experience in program coordination; candidates must be willing to participate in extra-curricular activities (such as language tables, Spanish Club, film series, Sigma Delta Pi Honor Society) to help promote enrollment and participation in the Spanish Program.

The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin, and to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
