Visiting Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies

The Hispanic Studies Department at Whitman College is excited to announce a one-year, Visiting Assistant position, effective August, 2023. Ph.D. strongly preferred, ABD considered. The successful candidate should be prepared to offer courses in all levels of Spanish language, in a context emphasizing literary and cultural analysis and critical thinking skills. Candidates will offer advanced courses in contemporary poetry, Spanish in applied contexts, and/or Spanish as a Heritage Language, according to the candidate's interests and expertise. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. The teaching load for this position is five courses.

Salary Range: $64,000-$67,000
