Instructor of First-Year Writing

The First-Year Writing Program at Tulane University seeks multiple Instructor lines for Fall 2023. The teaching load is three sections of first-year composition (ENGL 1010) per semester in small classes of approximately fifteen. Additional duties include active participation in pedagogy discussions as scheduled by the Director of First-Year Writing, typically twice per semester. Instructors are hired on an initial three-year contract, renewable upon successful review.

Candidates must have experience teaching first-year composition. A PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, English, or related Humanities field preferred.

Position includes full benefits, and a computer will be made available for faculty use during their time at Tulane.
