Assistant Professor of Spanish

Assistant Professor of Spanish (tenure-track): College of Charleston, Hispanic Linguistics, specialty in sociolinguistics and/or phonetics/phonology, with strong background in Latin American Studies, to teach undergraduates at all levels, including courses in the Department of Hispanic Studies and with the Linguistics and Latin American and Caribbean Studies programs. Occasional opportunities for teaching in relevant units across campus, including the M. Ed., the Honors, and/or the First Year Experience programs. 3/3 course load. Ph.D., at least 2 years of full-time collegiate teaching experience, a coherent and cohesive research program with promise for future production.

Position begins August 2020, full benefits and competitive salary. Strong command of Spanish and English required. Additional duties may include, but are not restricted to, participating in department and college functions; advising students and clubs; occasional directing of summer and/or semester study abroad programs in Spain and Latin America, and other service-related activities.
