Assistant Professor (tenure track) – Technical and Professional Communication


The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communication at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Technical and Professional Communication (tenure track), to begin August 2020 with approved funding.  Ph.D. required in Technical and Professional Communication, Rhetoric and Composition, Writing, or a closely related field.  The successful candidate will teach the sophomore-level technical and professional communication course and upper-level communication courses in their area of specialization.  The department is searching for candidates with a scholarly agenda that will leverage the University’s STEM research focus. We are especially interested in applicants with specializations in scientific writing and rhetoric, medical rhetorics, technical writing, digital media, rhetorics of technology, and/or rhetorics of data and information science.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of publication and ongoing scholarly research, evidence of successful teaching, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
