Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish

The Department of English and Modern Languages in the Cannon College of Arts & Sciences at Wingate University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin in August 2020.

The candidate will be expected to effectively teach a variety of Spanish courses at the undergraduate level.   The Department encourages applications from all areas of Spanish with a preference given to those also qualified to teach the French language and/or Spanish for Specific Purposes.  A strong commitment to excellent teaching is essential. Normal teaching load is 12 contact hours each semester on a nine-month non-security track contract. Additional expectations include scholarship and service to the University and profession.

Salary and rank are commensurate with experience. A Ph.D. is required for the Assistant Professor position. Candidates who are ABD would be hired at the Instructor rank and advanced to Assistant Professor after successful completion of the Ph.D.  ​
