One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a nine-month non-tenure earning faculty position at the rank of a one year visiting non-renewable assistant professor of Spanish Linguistics, anticipated to begin August 2020.

Duties:  The appointment carries a 3/3 teaching load, including undergraduate and graduate courses and a research component.

Minimum Requirements:  A Ph.D. in Spanish with a concentration in linguistics or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.  Native or near native fluency in both Spanish and English is required.  Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level.  The candidate must be authorized to work in the USA without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferences:  A specialization in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, or sociolinguistics as well as experience in teaching upper-division courses. The preferred candidate will also have experience with a variety of teaching modalities (online, hybrid and face-to face).
