The United States Military Academy invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor position within the Department of Foreign Languages. This is a 3-year term position. PhD preferred. Area of specialization: open.
Qualifications: Applicants must (a) hold a Master’s degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
Responsibilities: As an Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages, you will teach and possibly direct undergraduate introductory, intermediate and advanced language courses in Russian. You will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education and expertise in an appropriate area of specialization, such as applied linguistics or literatures and cultures of the Russian-speaking world. You may lead and guide student research and will provide academic counseling and mentorship to the undergraduate students (cadets) at the United States Military Academy.
