The Department of English Language and Literature at Yonsei University invites applications for a tenure-track professor specializing in English Literature/Writing Studies/Digital Humanities/Cultural Studies (one position). This position is located at the Sinchon campus, Yonsei’s main campus in Seoul, South Korea. We are looking for candidates in any field of British or American literature, or in the field of Writing Studies. In the case of Writing Studies, we are looking not for composition teachers, but researchers in rhetoric and composition or philosophy of writing, etc. We are also looking for candidates working in Digital Humanities or Cultural Studies, but the successful applicant will have research relevance to the field of English literature.
Ph.D. in hand required at time of application, and candidates with a demonstrated record of research publication and excellent teaching are preferred. Candidates with bilingual English/Korean ability are also preferred. One year post-doctoral experience requirement waived.
The successful candidate will propose and maintain a research agenda (in keeping with Yonsei's promotions requirements). The teaching load is 12 hours (usually 4 courses) per academic year, and may include supervision of theses/dissertations and advising.
