Nineteenth-century novel. Tenure track. To begin fall 2020. The successful candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in French; hold a PhD in French or Comparative Literature with an expertise in the nineteenth-century French novel and narrative studies, with a secondary specialization in one or several of the following areas: post-colonial studies, women and gender studies, digital humanities; Nineteenth-century novel. Tenure track. To begin fall 2020. The successful candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in French; hold a PhD in French or Comparative Literature with an expertise in the nineteenth-century French novel and narrative studies, with a secondary specialization in one or several of the following areas: post-colonial studies, women and gender studies, digital humanities; show evidence of interdisciplinary training and interest in collaborating with colleagues from other departments at the College; and demonstrate commitment to language teaching at all levels. Teaching load is two courses per semester. Application deadline is Friday, November 1, 2019. Applications must include the following materials: a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a writing sample (article or chapter length, not to exceed 30 pages), a graduate transcript, a statement of teaching philosophy (not to exceed one page), and three letters of recommendation, one of which should address the candidate's experience in language teaching. Candidates will be interviewed at the MLA Convention in January 2020 in Seattle or by videoconference.
