Visiting Assistant Professor in African/African Diaspora Literature

The Department of English at Tulane University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor in African and/or African Diaspora Literature (including African-American Literature).  The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment with the Program in Africana Studies, teaching three courses based in the English Department and three courses based in the interdisciplinary program.  Additional specializations in postcolonial theory or global anglophone literatures ,and/or gender and sexuality studies would also be welcome.  This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in English or related field

Research focus on African and/or African Diaspora Literature

Teaching experience at the university level
