Assistant Professor in Spanish (Lecturer Level B)

Position overview
ANU has the widest range of research and teaching programs in languages of any tertiary institution in Australia. We seek to appoint a scholar to broaden and further strengthen the teaching and research profile of the Spanish Program. The appointee will be expected to have an active research agenda in Hispanic Studies, in one or more of Literary, Film, or Gender Studies, and bring expertise and intellectual distinction to our existing research profile. S/he/They will contribute to the School’s teaching programs in Spanish and in his/her/their area of specialisation at all levels (Undergraduate, Honours, MA and PhD), and will recruit and supervise Honours, MA and PhD students. The appointee should be active in professional service within ANU, and nationally and internationally in his/her/their relevant disciplines, as well as in the broader community. The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Carry out high quality research and publish in peer-reviewed literature.
  • Develop and teach successful courses at all levels of undergraduate language and culture teaching.
  • Supervise Honours, MA and PhD students, and develop courses at these levels as required.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU.
