English, Assistant Professor

The Literature and Languages Department at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, invites applications for a tenure-track position in English at the assistant professor level beginning July 1, 2021. Applicants with teaching or scholarly backgrounds in linguistics, English language studies, and/or digital humanities are especially encouraged to apply.  A PhD in rhetoric and composition or a comparable discipline is required; successful defense of one’s dissertation must be completed by the position’s start date.

The position includes teaching first-year, intermediary, and advanced writing courses; advising English majors; serving on University committees; and producing scholarship in composition studies, digital humanities, or other related fields. The successful candidate will teach twelve credit hours semester, fall and spring, with additional teaching opportunities available as needed. The candidate will also further the department’s efforts to expand its program curricula in writing studies and digital humanities.
