Spanish, Assistant Professor

Saint Francis University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Spanish beginning January 9, 2021. Appointment at the assistant professor rank.

As an Assistant Professor of Spanish, the successful candidate will teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced level Spanish language courses, as well as courses in Spanish grammar and composition, Latin American culture, and courses specific to various professions, such as Spanish for Medical Professionals and Spanish for Law Enforcement.

Teaching load is 4-4, with an expectation of service and a research agenda. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for recruiting students for the Spanish Major (both BA and Secondary Education) and Minors, especially Spanish for Healthcare Professionals.

The candidate must hold a PhD in Spanish at the time of appointment and have demonstrated teaching experience. A passion for teaching, a commitment to innovative teaching methods, and demonstrated success in working with undergraduates is necessary.
