Francis Marion University and the Department of English and Modern Languages invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English specializing in Technical and Professional Communication. Primary responsibilities will include teaching courses in technical communication, writing for nonprofits, business writing, and special topics in writing. Successful candidates must have strong experience in and a commitment to teaching first-year composition.
Successful candidates will have a research agenda in Professional and Technical Communication with preference given to candidates with research interest or experience in one or more of these fields: social justice, indigenous or minority rhetorics, or public engagement. The position requires familiarity and practice with current industry-standard tools. Candidates will teach courses in the professional writing track which also serve students in engineering, business, and computer science, in addition to English.

Requirements: A Ph.D. in Professional and Technical Communication or Rhetoric and Composition in hand by the time of appointment.
