Assistant Professor(s) of Spanish

The department of Modern Language Studies at Lycoming College invites applications for two complementary full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professors of Spanish beginning Fall 2021.  We are looking for specialists in 20th/21st century Latin American literatures and cultures.  Expertise in Mexico, Caribbean Studies, or Southern Cone preferred.  We are interested in candidates whose work incorporates, race, gender, border studies, and/or visual cultures, as well as those with experience working with heritage speakers.  As part of their 3-3 teaching load, candidates should be prepared to teach language courses, introductory courses, courses on literature and culture, and advanced courses in their field of specialization.

Required Experience and Qualifications: Ph.D. required.  Native or near-native fluency as well as demonstrated teaching competency in Spanish required.  The ideal candidate will have sustained living experience in a Spanish-speaking country, evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, a serious commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, and evidence of potential for related scholarship.
