Poet and Professor - Tenured

The Department of English and the Creative Writing Program at Stanford University are conducting a search for a poet to be appointed at the tenured level. The successful candidate will have a record of distinguished publication, including at least three books of poetry.

Candidates should also have a strong commitment to teaching, experience and/or interest in program direction, and be prepared to take an active part in Stanford’s vibrant academic and creative writing communities. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels within both the English Department and the Creative Writing Program, and to engage in mentoring and advising students at all levels. Candidates should hold a degree of practice (MFA, PhD, or MA in Creative Writing) or its equivalent; candidates with other significant career paths will also be considered. The term of appointment will begin September 1, 2021.
