In its current configuration, the Expository Writing Program at Johns Hopkins is an established, highly effective freshman course with an enrollment of nearly half of all (1300+) entering JHU undergraduates.  The pedagogy is state-of-the art, the faculty includes a stable team of devoted and skilled lecturers, along with advanced doctoral students in English.  The two existing courses are small seminars offering intensive study of the art of mounting a persuasive scholarly argument.
