Teaching Associate Professor of French

The Department of Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is currently seeking applications for a Teaching Associate Professor of French. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a 3/3 load of language classes and participating in departmental service including coordinating multi-section French-language courses and mentoring graduate teaching fellows. Required minimum qualifications are: Ph.D. in French Studies, Romance Studies, French Linguistics, Education, or related field at time of employment; native or near-native proficiency in French and English; and a record of teaching excellence at the university level for at least six years, including a demonstrated or potential ability to teach students of diverse experiential and intellectual backgrounds. We particularly seek candidates with expertise in Second Language Acquisition or Second Language Learning/Teaching.
