One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor in German Studies

The Department of Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, and Russian Studies invites applications for a full-time one-year visiting position at the rank of assistant professor in German Studies to commence in late August 2021. Teaching assignments will include German language as well as topic courses in the successful candidate’s area of interest, along with the opportunity to direct a student theater workshop. The area of specialization is open, but we particularly welcome a focus on late 19th to 21st century and contemporary culture. The successful candidate should also be able to make connections to at least one area beyond German studies itself, such as philosophy, feminist and gender studies, race and ethnic studies, and film and media studies. All requirements for the Ph.D. should be complete by the starting date of August 24, 2021.
