Tenure-Track position - Francophone Studies and African Transcultural Studies

The Department of Languages and World Literatures in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at UBC Okanagan invites applications for a full-time position in Francophone Studies and African Transcultural Studies. The appointment will be with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor.  Appointment to begin July 1, 2021.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Francophone Studies with a focus in any one of African Studies, African Literature, Transcultural Studies in the African context, African Comparative Literature, or related sub-discipline. They will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and a record of significant scholarly publications. They must have a demonstrated ability to provide instruction at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. Experience of teaching at the graduate level is considered an asset. The candidate is expected to teach in English and French, and so must have an excellent command of both oral and written English and French. Knowledge of an African language is highly desirable.
