Visiting Assistant Professor of Latinx Studies / LAS / Spanish

The Department of Languages and Cultures at Loyola University New Orleans welcomes applications from energetic and committed professors of Latinx and/or Latin American Studies for a full-time, renewable Visiting Assistant Professorship, to begin in August 2021. The successful candidate will teach Latinx and LAS content courses in English and Spanish as well as Spanish language classes at all levels. The position requires teaching 4 classes per semester (fall and spring, for a total of 8 classes per academic year). Qualified applicants will hold a Ph.D. in Latinx or Latin American Studies or a related field, demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, and provide evidence of active scholarship and publication. The department is especially interested in applicants who can offer classes on Latin America and/or Latinx Studies from multiple disciplinary perspectives, including humanities, arts, and social sciences. Native fluency in Spanish and English is required. The successful candidate will begin on a three-year, renewable contract with the possibility of moving to permanent status.
