Assistant Professor of Spanish

Grove City College’s Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a full-time assistant professor of Spanish beginning in July 2021, pending final budget approval. We seek a generalist of any specialization who is committed to providing rigorous, immersive, communicative instruction. Familiarity with ACTFL guidelines is desired. Ability to contribute to the Spanish Secondary Education program and teach courses on second language acquisition or Spanish phonetics/linguistics would be an asset. Ph.D. and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in literature, language, culture, and the professions; participating actively in delivering a strong curriculum that equips students for graduate school and/or professional careers; and advising.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in classroom teaching, a record of scholarship within his or her field and a commitment to teaching highly motivated students at a Christian liberal arts institution. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Faculty members are expected to teach a 4/4 load.
