Sawyer Seminar Post Doc

As you may know, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded the University of Rochester funding for a Sawyer Seminar in 2021-22 titled "Unbordering Migration in the Americas:  Causes, Experiences, Identities."  A Sawyer Seminar is a year-long research initiative; ours will involve lectures, workshops, a film series, an art exhibit, and several other components, many of which feature distinguished visiting scholars. The Humanities Center is the home base for the Seminar. Our fervent hope is that everyone can participate in person, but we will run on zoom if necessary.

The Mellon grant provides for one postdoctoral fellow, who may be in any humanities or humanistic social science field relevant to the project.

The postdoc will be expected to be in residence in Rochester, NY contingent on the status of COVID next September 1, when the nine-month position begins.  The postdoc will receive $60K and will have some Seminar-relatedresponsibilities, but no teaching. To apply, candidates should go to https://www.sas.rochester.edu/humanities/programs/sawyer-seminar.html.

The application deadline is January 15, 2021.
