Instructor, Italian Language Program

The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is seeking one or more qualified instructor(s) in Italian for a one-year renewable appointment. Qualifications requested for candidates: ABD or PhD in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, or related areas. This is a full-time position (5 courses per year) with competitive salary and benefits. We seek candidates whose professional project is in language pedagogy and with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum design. Candidates will have a proven ability to work effectively in teams, and a strong interest in working with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and a command of English is required.
