The Macalester College Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for a one-year sabbatical replacement position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor with a specialization in Spanish linguistics. Subspecialty open, but preference given to candidates who work in language variation, language contact, and/or sociolinguistics. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching both Spanish language and content courses. 

Candidates are expected to have a PhD in Spanish or a related field (in hand or expected by August 2021) and native/near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. The teaching load is five courses per year. Salary and benefits are competitive.
