Assistant Professor of English

Tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2020. Ph.D. in English or related field. Applicants with broad-based knowledge of the field and with interests in African American literature preferred. Interests in 19th c. African American writing encouraged. Evidence of teaching and scholarly research/publication in the field required.

An instructional workload of 6 course units per academic year for the first year and 7-8 instructional course units in subsequent years. Major responsibilities include teaching an undergraduate survey course and a major writers course in African American literature. Opportunities exist for teaching in and collaboration with graduate and other undergraduate programs. A sustained record of scholarly research and publication.
