Assistant Professor of Arabic

Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Arabic at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in July 2021. PhD in Arabic Language and Literature, Comparative Literature, Middle Eastern Studies, or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates near completion of the dissertation may also be considered. The successful candidate will have native or near-native proficiency in Arabic, a demonstrable record of teaching excellence in Arabic as a second language, and a promising research agenda. Field of specialization open.
 
The Arabic program at Kenyon offers four years of Arabic instruction, and it allows students to major and minor in Arabic. The program is looking for an energetic and innovative candidate to teach language courses at all levels and courses in the candidate’s field of expertise, e.g. literature, film, etc. The teaching load consists of 3/2 course schedule.
