Spanish—FT Guest Faculty Position

Modern and Classical Languages and Literature

Sarah Lawrence invites applications for a one-year full-time position in Spanish, beginning in Fall 2021. Candidates should be prepared to teach all levels of language and culture courses, from Beginning to Advanced. The area of specialization is open, both thematically and geographically, but applications engaging in broad connections—including transatlantic, U.S. Latinx, Afro-Latinx, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ studies—are encouraged.

Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is essential, as is a commitment to, and record of, excellence in teaching. PhD preferred; ABD considered.

The application should include the following: cover letter, curriculum vitae, writing sample (article-length), three letters of recommendation, two sample syllabi, course proposals for one beginning- and one advanced-level class, and teaching evaluations.
